Adhering to a development strategy of “High-end manufacturing and technology-based upgrading”, it tries to improve scientific innovation mechanisms promote scientific conversions and applications, boost intellectual property protections and enhance self-innovations and sustainable development.

CNCE and subordinate enterprises have strong research and development ability. It has one national-level engineering & technology center, National Drying Technology & Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center based at Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation Co., Ltd. and three national-level enterprise technology centers, which is Guilin Rubber Machinery Technology Center, Yiyang Rubber Machinery Technology Center and Tianhua Institute Technology Center. There is a post-doctoral research station based at Yiyang Rubber Machinery. The independently designing, developing and manufacturing “SHJ series of co-rotating twin screw extruder”, completing whole sets of large scale  drying units and realizing many other technologies which have filled China’s gap in this field, the “five-ring” pulverized coal pressurized gasification furnace is the first of its kind in the world, and the tandem internal mixer and the conveyor belt press are technically advanced in the world. Operation parameters of the independently R&D high current density natural circulation electrolytic cell are internationally advanced.
