The List of 2014 Most Admired Chinese Petrochemical Companies was released recently, with ChemChina staying high on it.
The “Chinese companies” covered by statistics this time are defined as companies whose majority of shares are held by Chinese domestic enterprises or whose main management team is based in Mainland China. Information of the 300 candidate companies is collected from China National Information Center, National Bureau of Statistics, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Enterprise Confederation, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and All China Confederation of Industry and Commerce. Through the Internet, “Fortune” (Chinese version) sent a questionnaire to 35,000 Chinese business managers and received a total of 1,037 valid responses. Each respondent is requested to score the candidate companies on 9 indicators: status of products & services; long-term investment value; rational use of company assets; innovation capability; management quality; financial robustness; the ability to attract & retain talents; CSR performance; and global operation.
Each respondent is requested to score the candidate companies within his/her own industry but is not allowed to score the company he/she works for. In each industry, 5 companies with the highest comprehensive scores enter the industrial TOP 5 List. ChemChina enters the Top 5 List of the petrochemical industry.
