Recently, the bead-welding innovation team of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery has made a breakthrough in “special hard alloy bead-welding” technology for the internal mixer, a new achievement made in the Company’s “five small innovations for better efficiency” activities, further improving the quality of its internal mixer products.
The internal mixer system of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery was introduced from German WP company in the 1980s, and has been expanded to more than 30 specifications and models in N type (shearing type), E type (meshing type) and tandem type internal mixer series through absorption and re-innovation. Comparing with conventional rubber mixing processes, its proprietary tandem internal mixer technology improves the production efficiency by over 80%, saves energy by 20-40%, and reduces investment in equipment and factory by 20-30%. It has been widely applied in the tire industry and rubber product industry.
Considering the special production process and composition of rubber materials, surfaces of rotor, mixing chamber, wearing ring, upper ram, lower ram, and other key components of the internal mixer must be welded with special wear-proof, anti-corrosion and hard welding wire, i.e. the so-called hard alloy bead-welding. However, the traditional hard alloy bead-welding technology is time- and labor-consuming, and unstable in quality.
To further improve the quality of hard alloy bead-welding, the Company establishes a new bead-welding innovation team to repeatedly test and finally choose the most suitable welding wire and process parameters. The innovation team applied this process to the mixing chamber and round wear-resistant plate of the internal mixer for tests, and ultimately achieved uniform welding seams and defect-free surfaces after bead-welding and machining at the first try.
Currently, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery has applied this “special hard alloy bead-welding” process in all the series of internal mixers, providing new technical guarantee for the alloy bead-welding of key components of internal mixers.
