Recently, good news came from Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery that the tire project undertaken by the Yiyang-based company under the Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative was successfully accepted by Uzbekistan Angren Tire Factory. So far, the conveyor belt and tire sub-projects of the project conducted by Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery have been successfully completed.
Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery’s mixers in the tire production line of Angren Tire Factory
The tire project of Uzbekistan Angren Tire Factory was technically contracted by Beijing Research & Design Institute of Rubber Industry (BRDIRI) under ChemChina in September 2016. Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery undertook the rubber mixing equipment GK-400N mixer in the tire project and GK-190E mixer in the conveyor belt project as well as the design and construction of the 2.2m×10.6m steel cord flat vulcanizer production line for conveyor belt. The tire project is the first one in Uzbekistan. The conveyor belt project is the first production line of steel cord flat vulcanizer in Uzbekistan.
The successful implementation of the project represents a successful example of the advanced rubber technology and leading rubber equipment enterprises within ChemChina supporting the B&R Initiative.
In order to research and design the optimal production plan and process, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery invited KraussMaffei's technical experts from Germany to work together with the local team to hold a special seminar so as to ensure the quality and production progress of bid-winning products. After more than half a year of meticulous work, the customized equipment for the project was successfully tested with a one-time dead load in the assembly workshop of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery. In April 2017, internal mixers and large curing presses were transported to Uzbekistan, an ancient country along the Silk Road. In July, this batch of equipment successfully arrived at the destination Angren Tire Factory, starting the installation and commissioning.
In order to complete the project as soon as possible, we did our best to create a quality model project and produce demonstration effects overseas. Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery sent the technical team specializing in mechanical and electrical engineering to Uzbekistan for installation and debugging many times. Also, it worked closely with experts from BRDIRI’s project team and Uzbekistan’s user side to overcome difficulties in carefully installation and debugging, ensuring the completion of the project as planned.
Uzbekistan’s first production line of steel cord flat vulcanizer commissioned by Angren Tire Factory
In April 2018, Angren Tire Factory smoothly produced the first high-strength, impact-resistant, large-width steel-cord conveyor belt in Uzbekistan, writing a new chapter that Uzbekistan can produce this product. The smooth acceptance of this tire project has also completely ended Uzbekistan’s history of relying on imports instead of producing tires.
