Recently, the 100,000t/a polycarbonate extrusion & granulation unit, for which Tianhua Institute serves as general contractor, has been successfully put into production. The unit fully meets the design requirements and has been put into continuous production.
As a professional chemical equipment research institute, Tianhua Institute has a history of more than 60 years, boasts rich experience in engineering and design and long-term technological accumulation in the field of polycarbonate. Its R&D results have made contributions to China’s polycarbonate industry. In this project, Tianhua Institute is responsible for assembly design and electrical & instrumental control of upstream & downstream process equipment and the whole set of equipment, while the key mechanical parts are supplied by KraussMaffei, not only increasing the overall technical indicators of the system, but also increasing the equipment quality and reliability for customers, reducing the investments in equipment, accelerating the project construction, reducing the difficulties of the owners in communication and coordination, and increasing the flexibility of project implementation as a result of the advantages of local design, electrical & instrumental control and onsite services of Tianhua Institute.
The successful implementation of the project has not only accumulated experience in synergistic interaction between Tianhua Institute and KraussMaffei in the area of rubber and plastics, but also ushered in a new stage of the cooperation between the two sides in the future. Meanwhile, Tianhua Institute has made new breakthroughs in large-scale polycarbonate extrusion & granulation unit, won recognition of the process contractors, and laid a solid foundation for follow-up projects. In addition, the polymerization post-processing drying system, another core unit of the project, which is independently designed and manufactured by Tianhua Institute, has been successfully put into operation, further increasing the popularity of Tianhua Institute in the field.
