At 8 am on September 28, 2018, the 60th Anniversary Celebration Meeting of Tianhua Institute was held. All the staff of Lanzhou Headquarters of Tianhua Institute, and heads of Tianhua Nanjing Branch, Sanfang/Chemical Inspection and Suzhou Office attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Sun Zhongxin, General Manager of Tianhua Institute.
At the meeting, Xiao Shimeng, Chairman of Tianhua Institute, comprehensively reviewed the development of Tianhua Institute in the past 60 years and summarized the brilliant achievements made today. Over the past 60 years, Tianhua Institute has always taken a market-oriented approach to developing scientific and technological innovation to speed up the commercialized process. According to the actual demand for petrochemical equipment, it has improved the scientific and technological progress of petrochemical equipment and met the demand of petrochemical enterprises for equipment to carry out technological innovation. It has always been committed to the development of R&D innovation, achievement commercialization, personnel training, and cooperation and exchange.
After 60 years of efforts, Tianhua Institute has been growing up and surpassing itself. It has developed from a research institute with 3 professional groups, 8 engineers and a total of 17 employees in the early days to the one with 13 professional research institutes, 2 branches in Nanjing and Suzhou, a large production and processing base, 12 innovation platforms, and 15 industry-based organizations, specializing in the R&D, engineering design, product manufacturing, promotion and application of more than 200 varieties in 6 categories covering chemical machinery, chemical engineering and equipment, materials and corrosion, automatic control of production process, on-line analytical instruments, radioactive detection instruments, and environmental protection technologies and equipment. It has become a diversified listed company with a total asset value of nearly 1.7 billion yuan, an annual output value of over 1 billion yuan, and a market value of 3.749 billion yuan, integrating R&D, design, manufacturing, and supervision and representing one of China’s important enterprises engaged in R&D and manufacturing of petrochemical equipment. Products are widely used in chemical, petrochemical, coal chemical, steel, oil field, smelting, electric power, construction, environmental protection, and new materials.
Also, the research work of Tianhua Institute has continuously scaled new heights. In the field of chemical equipment research, Tianhua Institute has filled many domestic gaps and reached the leading level at home and abroad, including high-pressure containers made of three-layer thick steel plates (δ = 16 mm), its first scientific research achievement in 1959, corrosion-resistant glass pumps in the 1960s, ammonia synthesis compressors, vinyl acetate boiling bed reactors, PTA drying units with an annual output of 4 million tons, the world’s largest 2,545 ㎡ anode-protected sulfuric acid cooler, large polyethylene continuous-mixing extrusion pelletizing units, PTA pressure filters, low NOx burners for cracking furnaces, complete sets of technology and equipment for special fiber, ultra-high molecular-weight polyethylene technology and equipment, 1 million tons/year ethylene quenching boiler system and combustion system, treatment technology and equipment for ammonia-nitrogen wastewater of catalyst production. Therefore, Tianhua Institute has written a brilliant chapter in the Chinese chemical equipment industry, telling its success story.
In the future, Tianhua Institute will strive towards the goal of achieving high-quality development and building a renowned enterprise domestically and internationally specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of chemical equipment.
At the meeting, Li Jinke, He Deqiang, Zheng Jianguo, Wang Fang, and Li Jingfeng made wonderful speeches as representatives of leading talents of Gansu province, model workers, employees, trade unions (female workers), and young employees. They shared their sense of fulfilment and expressed their feelings for the company’s growth and their wishes for its future development in various aspects such as personal growth, experiences, and experience, winning applause from everyone.
The celebration ceremony specially commended a group of outstanding figures in scientific research, production, management, operation, and safety by awarding them the honorary title of “Star of Tianhua.” 21 employees including Zhao Xu, won the honors of management star, innovation star, marketing star, dedication star, craftsman star, and safety star.
Employees said that they would never forget their founding mission and set sail for a new journey to work together to develop Tianhua Institute for the next 60 years.
During the celebration, Tianhua Institute held a picture exhibition to showcase its development and brilliant achievements in the past 60 years.
