On September 26, 2021, Tianhua Institute was awarded the title of Excellent Service Provider of the Changqing-based Ethane-to-Ethylene Project for Lanzhou Petrochemical. It is learned that the Lanzhou Petrochemical project was listed by the National Development and Reform Commission as a national production demonstration project of ethane cracking to ethylene. It is a key refining and petrochemical project of China National Petroleum Corporation in building itself into a first-class international energy company. The project is located in Yuheng Industrial Park, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, with a total investment of nearly 10.4 billion yuan. The main products include high-density polyethylene and full-density polyethylene.
The Surveying and Control Center under Tianhua Institute is mainly responsible for the maintenance and operation of all radioactive instruments in the project. It has also undertaken the inspection and installation of radioactive instruments, troubleshooting, calibration and commissioning, maintenance, radioactive source switching, data compilation, and radiation monitoring. The radioactive instruments have been supplied by foreign manufacturers such as Vega and Berthold. Since the required instruments arrived at the project site from the United States and Germany in June, employees of the monitoring and control station have overcome difficulties and have been working hard at the site to assist in the inspection of goods and the installation of instruments and radioactive sources, while making recommendations for their optimization. After the installation of radioactive instruments, the on-site technical members from the center, facing many thorny problems encountered in the commissioning, analyzed and responded. Through efforts, they solved the difficulties so that the radioactive instruments were put into operation smoothly. Afterwards, professional technicians assumed the switching operation of radioactive sources many times. They often received calls in the middle of the morning and immediately rushed to the site to devote themselves to their work.
Through four months of efforts, technicians of Tianhua Institute, with solid professional techniques and quality and efficient service support, have ensured the good operation of radioactive meters when the 800,000 tons/year ethylene plant, 400,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene equipment, 400,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene plant, and 30,000 tons/year butylene-1 equipment were running. The work results were highly recognized by the owners.
