On November 22, the HW Petrochem’s 150,000 t/a high-performance polypropylene pneumatic system, which Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery and Automation Co., Ltd. (Tianhua Institute) took part in, was successfully launched and began to operate steadily, building a bridge for inter-connectivity between new and old units. Meanwhile, Daqing Haiding’s 100,000 t/a polypropylene pneumatic system has operated for one year.

The pneumatic system, also called pneumatic conveying system and blow-over system, is a delivery system conveying power and granules within pipes with airflow as a driving force. There are a number of ways of conveying such as dilute phase conveying, dense phase conveying, negative pressure conveying and dry conveying, etc. Featuring multi-disciplinary coordination, linkage between dynamic and static equipment and automatic process control, the system integrates multiple production links by using different configurations and combinations of equipment. In the case of restrictive conditions such as distance, height and cross-regional requirements, particularly in the field of high-end products made of new materials, the pneumatic system becomes more prominent in the industry. The system is able to steadily convey the intermediate products and catalysts to other workshop sections in an environment-friendly and safe way featuring low energy consumption and low wear, providing an important guarantee for continuous operations of the unit, cost reduction and efficiency increase.

Since the production of its first set of teflon in 2003, Tianhua Institute has closely followed the market demands and industrial development and taken the initiative to make innovations and sought changes. Over the nearly 20 years, Tianhua Institute has successfully designed dozens of sets of pneumatic conveying systems, involving a number of industries such as polyolefin and new-type resin, etc., covering products such as teflon, pulverized, catalyst, polypropylene, AMPS and high-performance ethylene-vinyl alcohol co-polymer, etc.

So far, Tianhua Institute has, in accordance with relevant industrial features and owners’ demands, perfectly integrated the pneumatic system and advanced technologies such as the drying technology and the VOC-removal technology, etc., and successively developed a series of new products for conveying, cooling, heating, power removal and de-ashing, etc. Tianhua Institute can achieve material transfer and meet owners’ tailored requirements on high level, high demand and low energy consumption. In the process of conveying polyolefin, new materials and catalyst in the conditions of negative pressure, dilute phase, dense phase, de-ashing and cooling, Tianhua Institute has completely realized independent design, complete supply customized EPC services, and achieved leapfrog development from traditional traditional chemical industry to the field of new materials.

So far, Tianhua Institute has obtained nine utility model patents related to pneumatic system. In the future, Tianhua Institute will give full play to its advantage of complete technology, keep creating and establishing new models for innovation cooperation, give play to the features of skid-mount design, shorten the supply cycle, reduce the cost and risks of customers’ construction, and keep pursuing development through innovation.
