Yichang Tinci Ferric Phosphate Plant Single-feed Test Run Successfully Finished

Recently, the 300,000 t/a ferric phosphate project of Yichang Tinci has been put into operation. Started in December 2021, the project is capable of producing 300,000 tons of ferric phosphate and recovering 50,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate every year. It is the world’s first 300,000 t/a ferric phosphate projects. In the project, Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation Co., Ltd. (Tianhua Institute) undertook the most critical development task of the drying+roasting workshop sections.

In 2021, Tianhua Institute and Yichang Tinci signed the contract on flash evaporation and roasting of ferric phosphate. According to the requirements of the owner, Tianhua Institute offers customized R&D services, meets users’ needs for large-scale units, and puts forward innovative design concepts, not only increasing the overall thermal efficiency of the unit with natural gas as the heat source, but also reducing the factory footprints and meeting the downstream & upstream requirements of the owner.

In the process of undertaking the project, Tianhua Institute Lanzhou Head Office, Nanjing Company and suppliers all over China strengthened coordination, took active measures to responding to such emergencies as late supply of raw materials and failure in delivery of goods due to the Covid-19, and eventually succeeded in delivering the equipment. To prevent from delaying the schedule of the owner due to the Covid-19, the professional technicians of Tianhua Institute, after completing the design and manufacturing related to process, equipment and electrometer, etc, overcame various difficulties, rushed to the site as fast as possible to carry out the commissioning work, worked overtime for over five months. Finally, the single-feed test run succeeded prior to the planned commissioning date of the owner!

At present, the first unit is operating steadily at the owner’s factory, with all indicators reaching the standard, and the safety and economical efficiency recognized by the owner. The adjustment of the follow-up units is in full swing. The successful application of the system has further enhanced the technological level of Tianhua Institute for building large-scale chemical equipment and has given a strong push to the rapid development of the industry of new energy materials.
