Recently, the drying equipment and the main equipment of the tail gas recovery system provided by Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation Co., Ltd. for Sinopec Tianjin Company were installed in the Nangang Industrial Zone, Tianjin.
Used for the 100,000-ton/year UHMWPE unit of the 1.2 million-ton/year ethylene and downstream high-end new material industrial cluster project in the Nangang Industrial Zone, Tianjin, it is China’s first drying system for pentane solvent slurry processing UHMWPE technology.
Devolatilization is an essential part of the PE production process, and drying depth influences the recovery amount and product quality of solvent. Through in-depth drying and devolatization, all the solvents in the production process can be recycled, thereby achieving the effect of cost reduction and energy conservation. Based on the more advanced slurry processing devolatization technology, scientific personnel of Tianhua Institute worked hard to tackle key problems, applying the technology on drying equipment for the first time. The system has made breakthroughs in overcoming technological problems related to large processing volume, flammability, explosibility, leak-proof structure and pentane recovery, etc.
