On June 8, members of the "Two Committees" of Tangjiu Village of Yangjiaotang Town, Anhua County, together with villagers' representatives, visited Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery and sent a plaque with the words "Accurate poverty alleviation promotes development and improves people’s lives", expressing gratitude to the company for helping the villagers get rid of poverty. Yao Hongjian, Party secretary, chairman and general manager of the company, Liu Menghui, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the company, and Zhang Zhihui, member of the poverty alleviation team in the village and administrative assistant of the office of the Discipline Inspection Commission, received the villagers of Tangjiu Village and had exchanges with them on poverty alleviation work.
Tangjiu Village is a national key village for poverty alleviation. The company’s task force actively implemented the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and ChemChina on precision poverty alleviation. In 2018, it began to help Tangjiu Village in a well-targeted manner, set up a leading group for this purpose, and sent Zhang Zhihui, administrative assistant of the office of the company’s Discipline Inspection Commission to station in the village and help the villagers get out of poverty.
As one of the responsible units for poverty alleviation, Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery, together with the two committees of Tangjiu Village, carried out a series of poverty alleviation projects, such as industrial support, poverty alleviation through education, the Dewdrop Project, relocation of impoverished people, reconstruction of dilapidated housing and poverty alleviation through medical security, focusing on such issues as "one exceeding, two assistances, three guarantees" and "drinking water safety".
Over the past three years, the company's nine poverty alleviation leaders have helped 27 poor households get rid of poverty in Tangjiu Village through more than 300 visits. With an investment of more than 1.4 million yuan in this aspect, the company has renovated 8 kilometers of river courses, built 6 kilometers of roads, built 2 bridges, developed 300 mu of Pueraria lobata base and 200 mu of Camellia oil-tea camellia base, and successfully helped the whole village get out of poverty. At present, the village has taken on a new look and the villagers’ living standard has been greatly improved. The poverty alleviation efforts of Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery has been recognized and praised by the villagers unanimously.
During the visit, members of the two committees of Tangjiu Village and villagers' representatives expressed their gratitude to Yiyang Rubber & Plastics Machinery. They said that the villagers got real and precise help on their way out of poverty. Yao Hongjian said that the villagers’ plaque is an affirmation of the company's poverty alleviation work, adding that the central SOE will continue to honor its CSR and contribute to the fight against poverty in an all-round way. On behalf of the company, he expressed his best wishes to all the villagers in Tangjiu Village, wishing them a better and better life.
