Recently, Pan Mingsheng, a worker of Sanming Doublewheel Chemical Machinery’s machining workshop, and Guo Chengmei, an employee from financial department, got up early in the morning because Li Cheng, the company’s Executive Deputy General Manager, would visit them at 9 a.m. As impoverished workers with advanced liver cancer, Sanming Doublewheel Chemical Machinery’s key assistance targets, they received RMB 50,000 of assistance funds each in 2018, thus extending their treatment and overcoming the difficulties of their families. Pan Mingsheng, who is now in stable condition, said with emotion, “Thanks to the help of the company. The establishment of Ping’an Fund is really a good thing!”
In Sanming Doublewheel Chemical Machinery, many employees like Pan Mingsheng and Guo Chengmei are supported by Ping’an Fund. Hong Jianjia, a former machinist, was disabled in a car accident. The trade union promptly presented more than RMB 30,000 donated from all the employees of the company. On December 25, 2017, the company established the “Ping’an Fund” and held a donation-launching ceremony. The atmosphere of love was warm. 562 cadres and workers participated in the donation, raising a total of RMB 82,440. The fund is mainly used to provide accurate assistance to needy workers in Sanming Doublewheel Chemical Machinery. The company’s trade union has established accounts to manage and use special funds for special purposes. Ping’an Fund's revenue and expenditure are monitored and inspected irregularly by the company’s trade union funds review committee. Each year, recipients, reasons and amount of assistance are listed in the company’s factory affairs publicity column. The workers’ congress would report the use of revenue and expenditure in the previous year and accept democratic supervision of employees.
As an important supplement to the medical insurance system for workers, Ping’an Fund is the development and continuation of heart-warming project organized by the trade union. Since the Ping’an Fund was launched, Sanming Doublewheel Chemical Machinery has attached great importance to and strongly supported the Fund. The trade union has provided considerate services to the employees from the aspects of mobilizing the employees to participate in the Fund, sorting out the data on reimbursement of medical expenses for the sick employees, and distributing medical mutual funds of Ping’an Fund, which has timely and effectively alleviated the plight of employees who are poor due to illness.
The effective operation of Ping’an Fund has enabled staff members to understand the significance of the mutual aid activity of “If sick, others help me, and vice versa” and to be aware that Ping’an Fund is a good practical thing that can be convenient and beneficial to all employees.
